Another review mentioned the Natchez as a fighting knife. It is very well balanced and sharp. I don't know much about knife fighting but I'd rather use a Colt model 1911 45 ACP caliber in a knife fight!!! If you are looking for a knife that will be used for hard work and last several life times, I recommend the Natchez Bowie. The only negative is the sheath. Although authentic and very well made, it doesn't have a belt loop. It's made to slide between a belt/sash and your pants, and has a metal "nipple" to keep it from sliding out.
